अकेलेपन की चाहत थी,
कब इश्क़ हो गया ख़बर नहीं।
नाराज़गी-सी महसूस हुई जब,
तब ना जाने यह बात चुभी..
अब कहॉं इस की शिकायत करूँ,
जब ज़माने की शिकायत इसे करी।

जो तेरे दुख हैं वो किसी की ख़्वाहिशें हैं।
जरा़ सँभल कर क़दम रखना फ़क़ीर
यहाँ हर ओर भिखरी हुई इबादतें हैं।

क्यों रूखे हैं मिजा़ज
और भीगी हैं आँखें तेरी?
क्यों शांत हैं होंठ
और भारी हैं आँहें तेरी?
हर लम्हा नहीं देगा साथ
ये तू भी जानता है।
फिर क्यों कोसता है क़िस्मत को
ये तू भी मानता है।
रूक जा, ज़रा साँस भर,
यह रास्ता बहुत लंबा है
यहाँ ख़ैरात से नहीं,
मेहनत से ही काम चलता है।

She asked me to make a 11:11 wish.
Smiling and looking in her eyes I said,
“Don’t you think it’s already granted?”

नादान ही तो था मैं
अब तो माफ़ कर दे,
गरम ख़ून और बेचैन इरादों को
अब तो रास्ता दिखा दे।

क्या नाराज़गी थी ऐसी
कि दोस्ती ही तोड़ ली
साथ देने की उम्र में,
साँस लेना ही छोड़ दी।

मेरी उम्र से ज़्यादा तेरा तजुरबा था,
यह कैसे भूल गया मैं?
तेरे हाथों में बड़ा हुआ मैं,
यही तो तेरा बड़प्पन था।

नादान ही तो था मैं,
अब तो माफ़ कर दे
माफ़ी तो माँग रहा हूँ मैं,
अब तो रास्ता दिखा दे।

बरसो बाद वो आवाज़ सुनी
बरबाद किया था ज़माना जिस ने,
उस शक्स से मुलाक़ात हुई

ना वो हँसे ना हम मुस्कुराए,
दिल ही दिल में ऐसी बात जो हुई।

रची थी जो रंजिशें आँखों ने,
लफ़्ज़ों ने आख़िर हक़ीक़त बयां की
कुछ जवाब मिले और कुछ यादें सवाल बन गई।

कुछ इसी तरह यह कहानी ख़त्म हुई,
बरसो का वादा कर वो आवाज़ फिर कहीं खो गई।

क़दर करना उस वक़्त की,
वो लमहों की वो बारिशों की
कुछ इस तरह ज़हन में बसाना उन्हें
कि कभी भूल ना सको, या
भूलने की साज़िश से पहले हमें याद करना
एहसास करवाएेंगे तुम्हें क्या कमज़ोर था,
मैं या मेरा वक़्त यह ख़ुद तय करना।

I didn't know I'll see heaven
Far away from all the sufferings,
I saw something which took my breath away
I wish I prayed for this much earlier
Or I should pray for this forever because,
once I got there, I won't be able to leave
And when the heaven asks what I want,
I'll ask her for the girl in front of me
I'll hold her hand and get lost in her dreams
Touch her lips and see what flowers are jealous of, Hold her by her waist and
make her mine...

Every time I reach the top
You make me realise where I don't belong.
With a slap of reality you push me down
And I remember your smile while stumbling around,
Not only your smile but your promises too,
Some of the reasons I climbed towards you.
I look for a hand before I hit the ground
Because I'm tired of healing this deep wound.

Giving hopes to live, having reasons to leave
