I guess, whenever we see, absorb and spread any
news of natural calamity, out of increasing our
general knowledge or for spreading awareness,
it should always end with gratitude (for doing
fine and unaffected) and prayers for the
affected. Without it, aren't we are just adding
chaos to the situation in most cases,
unintentionally?

Relationships are actually very simple.
You find someone who wants the type
of commitment that you want and they
want it with you. That's all there is to it.
Everything else is just BS and will be a
waste of your time.

Remember if someone doesn't treat
you the way you want to be treated, it
is your responsibility to choose
yourself and walk away.

We have become such ungrateful folks!
Complaining about our phone networks,
the government, the traffic on road, our
workplaces, our bosses at work, our
parents, our children, our friends, our
colleagues, our househelp and what not.
This is such an imbalance as we aren't
at all focussing on our blessings! How
can we just see one side of the coin
consistently and incessantly. For how
long?

I used to distract myself with junk food, overeating or overuse of usual media. Now, I leave everything, sit in silence, take some deep breaths and try to observe my feelings with a smile. An affirmation of being calm is an added bonus. Slowly, feelings of overwhelm are replaced by peace.
