अब बातें नहीं होती...

वो हमसे और हम उनसे यादों में मिल लेते हैं,
कि अब बरसात नहीं होती, बिन मौसम नमी के साफे ओढ़ लेते हैं...
अब सपनों में अक्सर मुलाक़ात करते हैं,
वो ठहाके नहीं होते, कि अब हम मुस्कुरा लिया करते हैं...
चांदनी रातों से हम उस चांद को चुरा लेते हैं,
उसको हमराज बना लेते हैं,
कि मुक्तक याद रखें ऐसी कहानियां बना देते हैं,
न फ़िक्र करो अब तुम हम अपना हाथ थाम लेते हैं,
जो अब बातें नहीं होती...
हम भूल चुके हैं उनको, और वो हमें,
एक दूसरे को ऐसे एहसास हम अक्सर दिला देते हैं...
क्योंकि अब बातें नहीं होती,
अजनबियों की तरह हाल वो हमारा जान लेते हैं...

हां! अब बातें नहीं होती...
तो पुरानी बातों को ज़हन में ज़िंदा वो क्यों रखतें हैं?
