sometimes I despise you with all my might
I think of holding a pillow over your face
and subduing all your breaths
until you beg for a release

like you run your fingers over my cranium
and then hit it with a hammer
until I bleed out of my eyes
and see nothing
but that wicked smile of yours

strip all the air from my lungs
wash away the incandescent crimson
from wherever your hands can go
and feel my flesh raw and new
under your calloused palm

and when you are done
can you scrape some melanin
from the dusk you bury
inside your bones
and pigment me head to toe
in hues that are yours?

One day when the stars of
your constellation and mine
will align themselves
like lovers enveloping each other
moving with the ephemeral wind
do you think you will want to place
those Midas hands of yours in mine
where poison ivy grew once?

golden
the sun kissed air
glides from the heaven
that is your mouth
travelling towards me
through your crescent lips
tracing the tenderest cells
oscillating under
the tropical madness
that is my skin

some fine day
my body draped
all over you
sunflowers on my skin
crimson tinted cheeks
poetry billowing in my eyes
hope is a firefly
running through me
lighting up every single atom
and so I dream on
through the horrors
through the angst
weak but I live on
happiness is coming
one step at a time
happiness I am becoming.

Inhale deeply
the rust in the air
scratching against
the nostrils and down
scathing the throat
burning the lungs
I inhale deeply
but is it worth it?
Are my breaths
worth something?

and in the unknown
depths and valleys
constellations and galaxies
and all that I have
been carrying for you
somewhere between
the sun and the moon
I have been hiding
only for you to drink
from my holy grail.

Atoms of my burning flesh quiver
streams of my sweet blood shiver
sink your teeth into my beating heart
bit by bit, love, rip me apart
flow into me like a river.

I am consumed by the summer
the wind and your scent
how it dallies on my lips
as I curl them, taking your name
I feel liberated by the way
your eyes pierce into mine
and you call me "love"

Your name sits
on the tip of my tongue
like dead flowers
with rotting petals
devoid of any fragrance
washed away of all the blush
seeking a way
to root themselves
on the fertile land
one last time.
