समय के चश्में के पीछे से
जब हर बीता पल नज़र आता है

खुशियाँ बाँटते आया था संग जिसके
आँसुओं को जिसके रोकने को, पत्थर सीने पे खा कर भी
अपनी आह को उसके कानों से पहले समेट जाता जो
अपना समझते आया था जिसे
एक रोज़ जब उस दोस्त के चेहरे का नक़ाब हट जाता है।

कोसें ख़ुद को कि नासमझी ने आज हमें है अकेला खड़ा किया?
कोसें क्या ख़ुद को कि उस बेईमान को इस सिलाह का मौक़ा दिया?
कि कह दें उस दोस्त को शुक्रिया,
ये ज़िंदगी तो ना सिखा सकी
दोस्त, तेरे मतलबी याराने ने हमें
इसी ज़िंदगी का पारखी बना दिया।।
