A hum in the air
In tune with the woodpecker.
My OCD totals the pecks,
Not on my cheek.
But it's wet, not from smooches,
Was it the rain, then?
Summer laughed .
You must be a fool.
Rain runs dry but do tears?
Sultry nights, lonely sheets,
Window panes , crescent moon,
Fireflies flicker.
Soar! They can!
2am thoughts. I, me and myself.
4am . Comforting pitter patter .
6am. OCD kicks in. 1348 rain drops.
As the woodpecker rises,
As the leaves flirt
With the morning rays,
A hum in the air
Is what I need
To survive
Yet another day.

POLE STAR

I navigate through the stars.
I follow the constellations.
As infinity lies before me,
Will I reach you, my pole star?
After an endless fall,
A hasty detour,
After a wild run,
From the orian's hunt,
After a mercurial burn,
Too close to the sun,
After a comet's scar,
A noteworthy nebula,
After a raging meteor,
A few singed strands,
As dark as coal,
Oh, what are the odds?
Are you a black hole?
As I pass you by,
Neither do I fidget,
Nor do I linger.
Unclear, the path ahead,
You, no longer my destination.
I realise, after a thousand miles,
After a billion light years,
It's been me,
I longed to reach.

I nurtured your heart
In the cocoon of my kisses.
You buried mine
In your woven web of lies.

If you didn't stay,
why return now?

You didn't sow.
So don't expect to reap now.

What if you aren't even an option???
