I'm sorry I wasn't able to save the part of me you fell in love with. Somewhere along our journey, life and circumstance took that away from me. In turn, I took that from us.

I'm a huge fan of logic and critical thinking, but given today's society as the benchmark, I shall settle for the mere appearance of either.

There are brief moments when I wish I could release this... feeling. This... monster raging inside me.

Then I become frightened, not knowing for sure if I'd ever be able to control it again. Would i even want to...

So it sleeps...

I find myself struggling with the thought of trying to help others in need.

I selfishly desire to keep a tiny bit of empathy for myself so I can feel something on a day without feelings.

Reasoning and logic often get in the way of ignorance and misplaced confidence.

The more I search within me, the more I become frightened of what I see.

Extraordinary souls are almost impossible to find, but they exist among us. They have this superhuman ability to absorb sunshine and warmth given off by our star. They then selflessly brighten any space they happen to occupy with kindness, understanding, support, and love.

You've seen them. People smile around them. Animals seem happier. The world feels brighter and warmer when you're near them. If you're one of the luckiest people in the world, you may just meet one of these incredible souls and fall in love with it..... I did. 🌹
