Am I a wanderer in the night,
Living lifetimes where
my feet have never been?

Each morning’s light,
a return, a rebirth,
To a body anchored in this earthly turf.

Winding, twisting, ever-expanding,  
This labyrinth ensnares,  
A maze within a maze,  
Endless turns, infinite possibilities,  
"I want to get out of this maze,
only to get into another one"  
Such is the journey, such is the quest,  
Are we Theseus chasing freedom,
string in hand, Or merely players
in a much vaster game?

बाद फिर बिछड़ने के,
उम्र भर की ख़ामोशी, बांध ली है होठों पर..
ना ही टूट कर रोए, ना ही कम ज़रा सोए,
ना हुई है बातें कम, ना ग़म झंझोड़ते हैं..

दुख पुराना साथी है, चेहरे पे क्यूँ लाना है?
कल भी घर चलाना था, आज भी चलाना है,
आँसू भी तो रहते हैं, बन के बोझ आँखों पर,
उम्र भर की ख़ामोशी बांध ली है होठों पर..

उम्र में हमारी तुम आओगे तो जानोगे,
इश्क़ के फ़साने में तोहमतें नहीं होती,
कौन किसका दोषी है की जगह नहीं होती,
रोज़ टूटे सपनों को फिर से बुनना होता है,
दिल से आगे जा करके पेट चुनना होता है...

तो मोहब्बतों में भी हमने शर्त ये रखी,
भूले कल की अलमारी कोई भी ना खोलेगा,
याद आ भी जाए तो कोई कुछ ना बोलेगा..

हाथ रख के जेबों पर आँसू भर के आँखों में
उम्र भर की ख़ामोशी बांध ली है होठों पर...
