In spiritual practices, we are asked
to be at peace with everything
around us. Contentment is
an essential virtue. However in
the world we live in, constantly
aiming for more is very normal,
validated, and also appreciated.
How we will be at harmony ever?-
Soaking - in rain or its promises -
July beckons the shoots,
to dream of saplings.-
Some people are precious.
We don’t let them go at any cost.
Deep down we know it’s our loss,
so what we understand it or not in words.-
How strange it is that you can’t impress your best friend whatever you do.
-
a trip to a beautiful faraway island. Yes, you had to plan it well but it was all worth it.
-
I had this beautiful painting on my mind.
I started doing it but soon realized,
I don't have colors it needs.
I searched around,
asked people,
visited shops but no -
they were unique
and though a few had something similar
but not them.
And better than them, but no, not them.
I finally met someone
I thought my search has ended -
what I described to him
and he added to my description
felt this is it.

Sensitive people need a huge strength just to survive and be okay in this world.

You keep on disrupting your own comfort routine
to add some new challenges.
Then you make a new routine with those challenges.
That’s how you grow.-
No idea how to deal with the situation but still step up,
butterflies in stomach yet pacifying parents,
feels like crying but you smile and say I'm fine, how are you?

Social media shows the happiest moments of other’s lives, not even the 10% of their real life. It shows neither their mundane workdays, nor the worse and challenging times. The anxious waiting, post-conflict coping, losses or their enraged, silly self. For influencers, social media is their daily job - a glossed over and polished version through retakes, edits and photoshops. — % &Setting our goals based on the social media is fine. We all want to experience if we like the idea of it, be it traveling to snowy Himalaya or Alpine valleys or buying expensive products they flaunt. We all aspire to do something that we believe we can and feels within our reach. — % &The hope, the anticipation, the excitement is okay. Rather good for us to get our attention out of the mundane lives and plan something.
What is not okay is the negativity it brings seeing someone where you want to be. Feeling it's difficult for you to achieve it and someone else is enjoying what you'd like for yourself. Feeling void looking at them. — % &If we cannot be happy for them which is very human not be (let's be honest) can we not think of their 90% of life which is hidden behind the lense? Which is as mundane, or challenging, or unpleasant as ours get time to time.
To have this larger context while looking at happy dance reels helps not only getting over the fomo, but also makes us feel good for their joy. If only we could try this. — % &-
