All of us plagued with problems.
Problem is they are enhanced by anxieties.
We become victims of insomnia as sleepless nights arrive.

With time ,you began to love it.
Then these sleepless nights
become moments of contemplations.
You think, rectify your faults..
But you don't get to sleep peacefully.
Either you use the moment to improve yourself
or take away someone else's sleep by your treachery.

a flowery bed of roses which everyone gets jealous of..my success,
my accolades, achievements..

What I do not realise is whenever I try to sleep on that flowery bed, I don't know why I am always mercilessly getting pricked by thorns.

It doesn't matter if your friend has turned on you. It means either his motive for being with you has changed.
Maybe the choices you made were not appreciated by him or maybe somewhere deep down he is jealous of the power you have and wants to take you down. Remember, a friend turned enemy is as dangerous as an enemy turned friend..
