मन को मुसीबतों की ऐसी लत लगी।
कि अब मुसीबत नहीं भी होती
तो भी मुसीबत होने लगती है।

Trapped in the jar of emotions
my heart gasping for air
cannot move, cannot run
locked from the inside out
it screams, it cries
inner conflict tightened its grip
softly strangling, suffocating
making me struggle for each breath

Saañs lene ko meri rooh jitnā chhat patāti rahi
Ye lehreiñ mujhe utni hi gerāyi meiñ le jaati rahi,

Jab jab chaaha Dil ne haar maan doob jaana
Tez hawayeiñ mujhe ek aas ki tajalli dikhlaati rahi,

Kuch aisa bhi tadpāya iss Dariya-e-ishq ne mujhe
Mere pyaase Dil ko boond boond tarsaati rahi,

Aankh moond utar pade jis intezār ke sailaab meiñ
Uske wādoñ ki kashti pass aati rahi dur jaati rahi,

Yaqeen thā roshni le āegā gehrāiyoñ meiñ wo
Par mai andhere meiñ sirf toofānoñ se takraati rahi,

Intehāñ hogyi jab paeroñ meiñ lgādi ilzāmāt ki bediyāñ
Ghutan se tilmilā kar lehroñ meiñ hāth chalāti rahi,

Jab thāma haath Khuda ne tau jaana maine
Mai aag ke dariya meiñ ab tak ghote lagaati rahi.
