Sleep, my dearest; sleep.
Mayhap, a golden sunrise
Shall await you in the morning.

I like my poems
served uncooked.

Most of this world,
an imposition.
Ideas imposed upon
you time and again,
leaving you no choice but
to believe and accept.

My poetry, a respite.
Like gardening
after a long day.

Sometimes, I sow the seed.
Else, I plough the soil,
so you could sow yours.

So many useless sweaters in
your drawers, while you sweat
at the gym.
Humanity shivering on the streets
in hope of some respite from cold.

Mellifluous sounds
Find their way to me
As I hobble
Into the garden,
Filled to overflowing
With magnolias,
Roses, and daisies.
Ah! At last, a bit of respite
From the sweltering heat
And the chaotic swarm
Of people,
All caught up
With the demands
Of propriety.
I pave my way deeper
Into the dense garth,
Listening
To the joyous tweeter
Of birds,
Far above and free.

I have not written in a while,
Be patient love, do not rile.
It will not be pretty, but brave
Like the way you would crave.

You can be as strong as Mother,
what others say, will not bother.
Paving your way through storm
As it eases, it becomes a norm.

For you, I am humble and kind.
For others I may be almost blind
To have faith in the stubborn kid,
Who has a golden heart, I can bid.

Those soothing words,were respite
from the chaos, as we talk tonight.

The winds had a message to deliver,
of destruction, and of despair.
A land plagued with the tricks of
uncertainty, its end was near.
Respite came, but came with it death.
Of desires, of wants, and of unshared pain.

It's incredibly hard to realise that it's okay to lie down, do nothing for a while and be happy about it. Sometimes it's important to enjoy that void while thinking about nothing. Human brain too is a machine that, at times, needs complete rest.

तवील सी ये ज़िन्दगी طویل سی یہ زندگی
मुख़्तसर सी ख़्वाहिशें مختسر سی خواهشے
जो तू मिले तो यार क्या جو تو ملے تو یار کیا
ज़िन्दगी हसीन हो। زندگی حسین ہو

रौशनी की तलाश मे روشنی کی تلاش میں
जुगनूओं के शहर में جگنوو کے شہر میں
हम निकल पड़े ऐतबार से ہم نکل پڑے اعتبار سے
राख़ सी इस रात में راخ سی اس رات میں
की तू मिले और सहर हो। کی تو ملے اور سحر ہو.

somewhere
a hand stirs through mist,

and i am shaken awake
only to watch

a memory

trying to escape through open window.

i close my eyes.
the creases across
my forehead finds
respite.

Insipid mornings and tasteless coffee,
From a thousand shadows,
Of yesterday,
Will you call today?
