रूद्र सा रूप तेरा रहता कभी
कभी आंखों में प्रेम सा भाव रहे
सबकी नैया लगाए किनारे तू
तू वो है जो सबके दुखों को हरे

स्वप्न में तू ही तू बस दिखता रहा
व्यर्थ जाता नहीं कोई भी घड़ी
इस तरह साथ देता रहा है देवा
जैसे जोड़ता है तू कड़ी से कड़ी

देवा जिसने तेरा छोड़ दिया वो
ज़िन्दगी का कोई अर्थ ही नहीं
तेरे क़दमों में है दुनिया मेरी तो
स्वर्ग की अब कोई ज़रूरत ही नहीं

ये दिल्ली है दिलवालों की
ये दिल्ली है मतवालों की

देश का दिल कहें या राजधानी
ये दिल्ली है बड़े-बड़े कारखानों की

इन्डिया गेट भी है यहाँ
जो श़ान है वीर जवानों की

कुतुबमीनार और लाल किला
इज्ज़त करते मेहमानों की

ये दिल्ली है दिलवालों की
ये दिल्ली है मेहमानों की।

कानपुर के नगर की क्या अजब थी शान,
आज़ादी के जनको को मेरा सादर प्रणाम,
रानी लक्ष्मीबाई बिठूर की वीरतम नारी,
जिनके आगे विशम अंग्रेज़ी सेना भी हारी।

लाल इमली के एल्गिन मिल का विश्वप्रसिद्ध थान,
जे०के०मंदिर के सुन्दर प्रांगण पर हमको अभिमान,
यहाँ का अनुपम चिड़ियाघर ऐशिया में सबसे विशाल,
रेव व ज़ेड स्कवेर हैं यहाँ के विशालतम शापिंग माल।

ठग्गू के लड्डू खाकर ठगनें आते है बालीवुड भी,
बदनाम कुल्फी का प्रचार करें जूनियर बिग बी भी,
शीशामऊ और शिवालय की अपनी अलग पहचान,
नवीन मार्केट और परेड है बड़े प्रचलित स्थान।

ग्रीन पार्क में देखे हमनें कितने सारे मैंच,
नहीं भुला सकते हम सचिन के दाँव पेच,
जब वार्ने को नज़र आए नींद में भी छक्के,
लैन्डमार्क के रूम में जाकर वे थे हक्के-बक्के।

गंगा मैया की गोद में खेल-खेल कर बड़े हुए हम,
गंगा मेले के रंगों की होली में सराबोर हुए हम,
पर अफसोस कि राजनीति की उथल-पुथल में,
जनसंख्या और प्रदूषण की गर्त में गिर गए हम।

अब वक्त आ गया है दोस्तों नवजागरण का,
अपने नगर के लिए अपना सरवस्व झोंकने का,
तो जागो, उठो और हाथ से हाथ मिल़ाओ,
अपने कानपुर को वही पुराना सम्मान दिलाओ।

My schooling from KANPUR
world famous iska leather ka samaan,
Married in ALLAHABAD where
Sangam takes place,
Lived in AMRITSAR where
Golden Temple is famous place,
Stayed in MHOW near Indore
and piled smoking ka samaan,
Resided in DINJAN (Assam) where
exotic tea hai uski shaan,
Remained in CHAUBATTIA which
is known as Land of God's,
Inhabited JAMMU and went
so many times to Vaishnon Devi dham,
My abode was DELHI too where
venturing OUT shopping is amazing for you,
Dwelling in KOHIMA whose Hornbill,
the festival of festivals is surely a thing to do.
All these cities are part of me
and I am part of them,
The people there have loved me
and I have also loved them.
