The night sets in
Basking everything in moonlight,
The scent of primroses lulls all to sleep
The aura is serene and quiet.
The leaves sway to the rhythm
Of the breeze
Sounding like whispers with a wheeze.
The old woman dozes off,
Her book lies on the floor;
The girl gazes at the stars with a hope,
Unbolted stays the door.
The prankster now sleeps
Lost in his dream,
The cradle in the other room shines
Drenched in moonbeam.
The dreamcatcher swings to and fro
Over the cot,
As if Asibikaashi is protecting the land
With her web, the people are to worry not.
Thus, everyone sleeps calmly
Lost in their own paradise,
Except the girl gazing at the stars,
Longing in her eyes.
