I have a demon,
he keeps me trapped.
Day in, day out,
my energy's sapped.

With him around,
I'll never be free.
The trouble is,
my demon's Me.

Dim: the bright, and murky: clear
Silk that's spun from threads of beams -
Light that fades, yet always near,
and nothing is quite as it seems

Burn, Burn, Burn:

The flames, they dance,
they gallivant & prance.

Burn & rise up, higher!

Every tongue will get
its turn
to Burn,
in the name of Fire.

I'm tired of hiding
behind my expansive privilege;
it reminds me, throughout,
of the times I've maintained silence
when I should have spoken out
against patriarchy's inherent violence.
And unless I speak truth
to power (my own),
unless the extent
of the malaise is known,
I can never truly honour
any commitment to fight
the disbalance that stems
from my sex-given right
to get what I want
and do as I please.
It is time for attention;
I'll no longer stand at ease.

There is no more news,
The General was unjustly arrested at a peaceful meeting,
No have signs of justice.

Distances measured in years;
reduction & increment
cancel each other out:
unpacking our baggage,
proceeding to spout
poetry laced with our hopes & fears.

Nostalgic for what was, back then,
knowing that there was a time,
but sometimes wondering, when?

As we trace our histories
through pain & in love,
that time, perhaps, is now.
