Smiles, professing kindness, that isn't there;
Kisses, affecting a semblance, of devotion;
Hugs, feigning deep concern;
Yet thoughts, as unconcealed, as bright new days;
Bear proof, to ill intent--
Painstakingly veiled, as altruism and benevolence.
Spare me these, please. Be cruel. Be hurtful.
But, pour forth, upfront, your real motives.
For, I'm too dumb, most times,
To see through intricate masks
And labyrinthine perfidy.
