Its been so long
but silence still settles
like a winter frost
swallowing your forsaken words,
shuddering like arctic winds
caught in the cracks of my lips
and my tongue feels thick
like the early morning fog
treading your lingering whispers
of stagnant verses.

The silent lullabies of a heart
That's shy and calcified with mire;
He proclaims, "I love you!"
She retorts, "I don't believe you!"
Like nil else can ever alter her mind--
Even when he begs her to listen;
Even whilst he lays his soul, bare.
The quiet, burgeoning fire of his devotion
Inveigles to subjugate her piercing ice;
Albeit, it doesn't even create a scuff;
Her rusted gate, forever latched.
A year of persistent calls and missives
Goes unopened and returned;
One by one, his gifts arrive at his door;
A paltry note says, "Thank you--but no."
Alas! Another soul gets jettisoned
And insistently ignored;
If only she attempts to discern
His intentions and his lines;
Then, mayhap, a rare connection
Can still beauteously unfold.
Yet, she isn't prepared to enact that risk--
That deafening whisper, declaring filth.
For, to be abandoned isn't on her list;
She's been through that by-way before--
A most humiliating glitch.

Forsaken

He smiled a smile that gave away nothing yet gave away something. The beep of the machines in the Intensive Care Unit scared his sister. She hated to see her guardian angel lie helpless, entangled in tubes. As she held his hand to comfort, the heart monitor displayed a flatline.

वक़्त का तकाज़ा देखो, साहब वो सब सपने थे...

Maybe we made history
by being the symbol of constant but hopeless passion
For we were forsaken...

Using DEAR SIR and sending a mail to that particular person....whom you really hate....!!!

Still were they, knowing the truth,
Being occupied,never attended;
Lost her love inadvertently.

कैद थी दीवार में
दीवार मेरी हो गई..
खुद से जो ना कह सकी
दीवार से सब कह गई..|

था अँधेरा हर तरफ
जब रोशनी खोने लगी..
चीख सुन सन्नाटे की
खामोश ये भी हो गई..

शून्य के उस वक्त में
जब शून्य मैं होने लगी..
शून्य में ही देखकर
दीवार हिम्मत दे गई..

कान सबके हैं मगर
मैं अनसुनी कर दी गई..
दीवार ने सुनकर मुझे
चुपचाप ताकत दी नई..

अपनों के घेरे में भी
अब अपनी ये दीवार है
सच कहा लोगों ने कि
दीवार के भी कान है.. |
