Its been so long
but silence still settles
like a winter frost
swallowing your forsaken words,
shuddering like arctic winds
caught in the cracks of my lips
and my tongue feels thick
like the early morning fog
treading your lingering whispers
of stagnant verses.

जैसे ही धूप पेड़ों में बहेगी,
प्रकृति की शांति मुझ में प्रवाहित होगी।
हवाएं अपनी ताजगी मुझ में उड़ाएंगी,
और तूफान अपनी ऊर्जा उड़ाएंगे,
शायद मेरी चिंताएं शरद ऋतु के पत्तों की तरह
मुझसे दूर हो जाएंगी।....

अपने शहर से इतनी नफरत नही करना चाहता था '
कि 'उसे समझा जाए।....

इन दिनों, मैं नश्वर होने के लिए बहुत निराश हूं,
और केवल एक बार इस जीवन को सहना पड़ा है।
इन दिनों, मैं तुमसे बिल्कुल भी ईर्ष्या नहीं करता।"
"और इससे पहले कि?"
क्षितिज की ओर देखने की उसकी बारी थी।
"मैं चाहता था कि मुझे यह सब देखने का मौका मिले-
और इससे नफरत थी कि मैं कभी नहीं करूंगा।.....

मैंने पाया कि मैं पहला व्यक्ति नहीं था,
जो कभी भ्रमित और भयभीत हुआ"
और यहां तक कि मानव व्यवहार से बीमार भी था।
खुशी की बात है कि आप लोगों ने अपनी परेशानियों
और दौलत का हिसाब रखा।
आप अन्य लोगों को प्रेरणा दे सकते है-
यदि आप चाहते हैं। जैसे किसी दिन,
अगर आपके पास देने के लिए कुछ है,
तो कोई आपसे कुछ सीखेगा।
पर मैंने अपमान का हिसाब रखा।
यह मेरी एक सुंदर पारस्परिक व्यवस्था है।
और यह शिक्षा नहीं है।
यह इतिहास है।
यह कविता है।....

The silent lullabies of a heart
That's shy and calcified with mire;
He proclaims, "I love you!"
She retorts, "I don't believe you!"
Like nil else can ever alter her mind--
Even when he begs her to listen;
Even whilst he lays his soul, bare.
The quiet, burgeoning fire of his devotion
Inveigles to subjugate her piercing ice;
Albeit, it doesn't even create a scuff;
Her rusted gate, forever latched.
A year of persistent calls and missives
Goes unopened and returned;
One by one, his gifts arrive at his door;
A paltry note says, "Thank you--but no."
Alas! Another soul gets jettisoned
And insistently ignored;
If only she attempts to discern
His intentions and his lines;
Then, mayhap, a rare connection
Can still beauteously unfold.
Yet, she isn't prepared to enact that risk--
That deafening whisper, declaring filth.
For, to be abandoned isn't on her list;
She's been through that by-way before--
A most humiliating glitch.
