Memories are not faceless
and so they hurt a bit more than needed.

I saw that face in the betrayal,
devastation it was.

Betrayals should be faceless.
Memories should be faceless.

I try not to remain alone but when the night creeps in, and the city goes to sleep, when only darkness is prevalent, the demons arrive, rise up above, sit on my chest and don't let me breathe. They ask me for a name, I give yours, lights go off and I hear nothing but the sound of Silence. They then, look me in the eye, and start smiling, seeing me in misery gives them peace, I believe. I resist the pain but their smiling turns into laughter and I become their favourite sad puppet. Hours pass by and I lay in my bed, lifeless, thinking about how far I've come in search of sadness caused by a mere mortal incapable of loving.
