We have impact on lives;
We destroy and also build.
Hundred human hands rise and hold
A million lives that are helpless
Against the onslaught
Of another million hands
That rise and grab greedily.
If they don't get, then,
They snap in the air like
Wild crabs caught in the net.
We have never been more greedy
In our history than now,
Submerging ourselves,
Giving ourselves to the religion of consumerism.
We keep hoarding and hoarding
Believing we got cheap deals
While the blue planet pays heavily for it.
We may never wake up,
We may never listen to the songs of the earth,
We may never fill our eyes
with the visions of beauty,
For never before
were so many narcissist born
In a single century.
