भूख हमारे समय
का सबसे बड़ा अभिशाप है।

ये आती है
अपने नुकीले दाँतो के साथ
और खा जाती है
एक भरा-पूरा बचपन!

जब दो जिस्मों का इश्क़ मुकम्मल हो जाता है
तो लोग अक्सर तोहफ़े कचरे में छोड़ देते हैं..
इंसानियत् मर कर भी जिंदा हो जाता है
जब वही किसी के घर का शान बन जाता है..
यूं तो बहुत से किस्से देखे हैं, सुनें है
मैंने अपनी जिंदगी में
ऐसे ही मुश्किलों से लड़कर
कोई महान बन जाता है..!

कंधों पे बोझ है, आंखों में परियो की खोज है!
आज करना काम है, बचपन किस चिड़ियां का नाम है?

ये कैसा सौदा है ,
जहां , इक वक्त के खाने की खातिर ।
बचपन का दाव , खेल जाते काफ़िर ।

चीख रहा बचपन।।
गुमनाम सी गलियों में,
कहीं कारखानों में,
तो कहीं सड़को पे,
चीख रहा बचपन।।
मजदूरी के बोझ तले,
धूल और धुएं के बीच,
कहीं अंधेरों में
चीख रहा बचपन।।
बाल मजदूरी के जंजीरों में।।

कंधे पर उसको बस्ते उठाना अच्छा लगता है
हाथ में उसको कलम का आना अच्छा लगता है
हां..उसको भी स्कूल जाना अच्छा लगता है,
पढ़ना-लिखना, सपने देखना अच्छा लगता है
खेलना-कूदना, नाम कमाना अच्छा लगता है
क्यों छीन रहे हो इनके बचपन का नूर
क्यों बना रहे हो इन्हें बाल मजदूर
क्या नन्हे हाथों को दुख पहुंचाना अच्छा लगता है,
बड़ा कर दिया मजबूरियों ने इन्हे वक्त से पहले
वरना किसको सर पर बोझ उठाना अच्छा लगता है।

How do I even start to describe this,
Something which has been a total miss.
Those innocent hands meant to hold a balloon,
Inside the industries they work the entire noon.

Speaking about those who have not been lucky enough,
We contributed to make their life additionally tough.
Child labour has been a social cause since ages,
Its about little ones working on per day wages.

A 12 year old working for a household,
Life has certainly left her ‘out in the cold’.
While kids of the family are blessed with what they want,
This little one here is brutually made to serve the aunt.

On construction sites and inside the industries,
They deal with the hazards since centuries.
Nobody being compassionate towards an innocent life,
Be it life endangering chemicals, hot iron or a knife.

CLPR of 1986 prescribes child labour rules,
The execution of which has been miniscule.
The ones that are deprived of books and schools,
I truly wish that the law had some strict rules.

Age to study
But work I should,
You've got a chance
Use it, you would...
Won't you?
