ग़ुलाम चाहते थे बनाना, बेकसूर क़ुदरत को हम,
आज हमारी ही करतूतें, यूँ पर्दाफाश हो रही हैं,

काटकर जला दिये थे, कई ज़रीया-ए-ज़िन्दगी हमने,
साँसों के वास्ते उन्हीं की साँसों की, तलाश हो रही है,

ज़मी कम पड़ रही, इन मुर्दा जिस्मों के लिए, ऐ ख़ुदा,
उम्मीदों को कहाँ दफ़नाऊँ, जो ज़िन्दा लाश हो रही है,

या ख़ुदा,,
हम गुनहगारों को रास्ता दिखा, तूफ़ान-ए-वबा को रोक सकें,
ख़ौफ़ नहीं, भूख से तड़पती मुफ़्लिसी, अब हताश हो रही हैं।।
