The last time I saw you,
you were colder than my palms,
sweating of fear and guilts.
You have had grown layers,
while I was trapped under the folds,
of emotions, expectations and promises.
Your breaths were heavy,
heaving on mine, unabling me to breath.
The days you left me choking,
I skipped tiffin for a cup of tea at home,
and dinner to sleep a little more.
You grew fatter sucking my flesh.
Maybe that's how you died,
Of obsessive obesity.

To depression,
From boredom.

अन्नपूर्णा होकर भी जब, भूखे पेट व‍ह सोती है,
परिवार का पेट भरकर भी, अपना आस्तित्‍व खोती है,

जीवन चूल्हे को किया समर्पित, खुद ही खुद को खोया,
झूठ कहूँगी अगर ये बोलूँ, उसका अंतर्मन नहीं रोया,

एक-एक रोटी लाकर, उसनें सबका पेट भरा,
फिर भी उसका स्थान, बगल तुम्हारे नहीं ज़रा,

क्या पूछा तुमने उससे यह, बैठ हमारे संग खाओ,
जो भी तुमने पकाया है, यहीं पास लेती आओ,

आज चुप-चुप रहने वाली, कल तक खुलकर हँसती थी,
ज़िम्मेदारी के बोझ से पहले, वो भी किसी की बच्ची थी,

अपने सपने, अपने अपने, वो छोड़ तुम्हारे पास खड़ी,
साथ दिया हर पीड़ा में, दुख में जब आफत आन पड़ी,

अन्नपूर्णा है वह घर की, या बंधुआ मजदूर कोई,
कब से बेकल प्यासी आँखे, चैन की नींद नहीं सोई,

धन दौलत से ज़्यादा वो तो, अपनेपन की प्यासी है,
तेरी खुशी के आगे अपना, सर्वस्व लुटाने राज़ी है,

पत्थर की पूजा करने वाले, अब हाड़-मांस पर ध्यान दो,
अपने को अर्पण करने वाली, घर की देवी को भी मान दो,

तनिक भी अंतर्मन शेष हो तो, उसे उचित सम्मान दो,
पहला निवाला नहीं सही तो, अपने समकक्ष स्थान दो|
