Tell me about the books you've read so far and I'll tell you how good the book you write will ever be.

I went to a voracious reader and asked him to read my nude manuscript (It takes a lot of strength to do that) - He smiled and said, "Leave this aside. Go back home and read a 100 books. Then you read your manuscript,"

25 books down, I deleted my manuscript. First draft of Dirty Martini it is.

To all my Indian authors and writers, I know it's difficult. Painstalking. Especially, when you might not get any returns. And, when you're forced to shell a lot of money on editing and designing and publishing. It's ok! Relax. Calm down. Common readers or people will never understand our pain. It's none of their business to understand, actually. So keep calm!

But, keep reading. It hurts me to hear young writers saying "I've no time to read," that might sound fancy but you'll starve for words later. Read more than you write. Please!

I'm not the first person to tell you that the heart want what it wants.
But, let's think a little deep about it.
That's how stubborn our hearts are.
I can go on and on about how important it is to choose the right thing.
How important it is to pick that one person who'll help us grow and how everything your heart yearns for is toxic for you!
But, that wouldn't bother you, would it?
Because, your heart wants what it wants.
Not just that,
Your heart is too stubborn to accept that it isn't meant to be.

Why to read only foreign author...when u have such awesome authors in your country...it's good to read more and explore new things...but u should not forget or neglect your own...
I have seen people who criticize to people who read Indian authors...
Often I have also been criticised by people that..."Being a literature student...why are u reading indian authors"...I have my own comfort zone...I have my own choices...
Why to read suggested books which even don't seems interesting to u...read books from your own choices...

If you like my shayaris,
Do read "Teenage Diaries" 😄😄

It is not another run of the mill romance,
rather, it gives you a chance,
to look back at your feats and follies,
celebrate them with another glance..

It tugs at your heartstrings,
with the memories that it brings,
rekindles your faith in friendship,
takes you through your crushes and flings,

Yes, you'll smile a lot,
At times, maybe have a lump in your throat,
it's not a book, but an experience, an emotion,
from the pages of diaries that I wrote.

A good heart is never tired to seek the goodness in people. It trusts the most beautiful faces and the ugliest. It knows that something will definitely be good in either of them. They love the hardest and struggle the most to hate. Hatred has never been a part of them but even after being too used and too ignored they come back. It might take time for them to love again but they do, because they believe in trying and not quitting on people.

"Why do you still use Kodak?" she asked
"Umm...To preserve" he playfully replied
She scoffed and said "They too will eventually get lost in some archaic trunk or cupboard"
He looked at her with a broad smile and replied in a soothing voice "Yes.. But, I cannot hold and lie along a digital device. It will seem awkward"

They both gleed at the witty reply as the cold wind gushed beneath their ears

This work is really more a loose
assessment of a life lived by the
terms that were laid out & erased;
playing the cards as they were dealt,
calling a bluff, being dealt one last
hand and playing earnestly
henceforth.

It was a pleasant feeling to be made aware that my ancestry traces its roots back in time to the founder of a world religion.
