I believe in the ideals of a feminist
but I don't like to be called one...
I'd rather call myself a
'equalist' , I guess.
The term for
gender equality
can never be based
on a single gender. So,
I am not another feminist
fighting for my rights as a women.
I am a person seeking for EQUALITY AS A HUMAN.

In a classroom...

Teacher: Write about your fear.
All wrote about cockroach,lizard,spider,tiger etc.

The girl out there: I have a vagina,which restricts me from doing anything and everything I wish to.So it's my biggest fear!
The bitter truth that we all are living with.

Devoid of every mask
Baring all my teeth and scars
You would still look at me
As a woman
With two breasts and
A vagina , not as a
Devil or warrior
Or survivor.

MY JOURNEY WITH FEMINISM

I denied calling myself a feminist
for as long as 26 years.
Until I realized that I hated being
called one because
it had the word "femin" in it
and my male ego felt threatened
in associating myself with
anything related to the other gender.
It felt weak. It felt womanly,
which my "smart" friends from IIT
would make fun of.

Sometimes the little things inspire me a great deal; they interest me in ways no one else can ever do; sometimes i understand the gist of life from just a naked dying leaf of autumn where its fall reminds me of our periodic downfalls, where we feel well-racked in life, and its beauty tells me that a fall can be beautiful too; all we need to do is to observe it from our inner eyes; on
the other hand, spring reminds me that after decays, life blooms
again in even more exquisite and divine ways; it's a reminder
that during catastrophic events, we must stay calm to wait
to welcome the blooming spring of our life; we must
hold the thought in our mind that there can be
no springs, if there ain't any autumns, so
downfalls are must to make one

कतरा-कतरा पी रही थी , कोख में मानो जी रही थी ..
फूल रही थी सांसे मेरी , कोख में मानो सिमट रही थी ..

मचल रहे थे मेरे पाव , इस सिमटती दुनिया से निकलने को ..
व्याकुल थे मेरे जुबान , मां की पुकार लगाने को ..

आखिर रंग ली तुने अपने हाथ , मेरे जिंदगी के साए में ..
कुछ संजोए ख्वाहिशें रह गई अधूरी , मेरी किस्मत के माये में ..

थम गई मेरी हर वो धड़कन , जो मां के लहू से धड़कती थी ..
बुझ गई मेरी हर वो आकांक्षाए , जो मां के अरमानों से पनपती थी ..

यह कर्म नहीं कुकर्म है , नारी के उभरते अस्तित्व का ..
यह अर्पण नहीं दर्पण है , इस उभरते समाज के व्यक्तित्व का ..
