Sundays were the days when we turned our kitchen into a laboratory. Only on a sunday, we had the time to experiment with our taste buds. Breakfast was the first milestone. We always agreed to disagree on what to eat. While l prepared our usual ginger tea, we used to discuss what we could eat for our breakfast. With a yes-no battle of choices that day, we finally prepared our favorite sunny side up with toast. He poured extra butter on his toast, while I stayed away even from a spoonful. I never liked butter. But, I loved his smile which accompanied every one of his buttery bites.
Now, when I miss him, I too add that extra butter and taste his smile in every bite.
