Bondage
One life, one love.
A reason to live,
A cause to preserve.
One family, one in-law
A home to live,
A house she deserves.
Sacrifices of needs and more
A ruler that is different for all
He’s the brother he may take the best
But she should stay in the nest and rest.
An education served equal for all
Why is it that only she should stall?
She can well read and can well write
A bird misunderstood for a fly.
An arena for love and souls
Led by goodwill, silver and gold.
An event made of ceremonies and talks.
A garland of burdens for her, the log.
And there she stands bright and tall
Does what he says as if he’s the lord.
The shine that fades, dreams all gone.
Dreams and wishes locked in the log.
Now, she’s bondage to the barks and cries
Got children and is still well trying.
Her identity is long lost and gone
She’s a poor soul, always petrified.
She sure should get a chance to score
To fulfil her dreams, to be on remorse.
This bird should spread her wings and fly
‘Coz she’s not in bondage and definitely not
a log or a fly.
