Like the light she came in my life, Over was despair , I felt alive Victory was made to all the strife, Even made me enjoy, not just survive.
You brought sunshine that melted my snow, Opened the doors I didn't even know, Unified my soul, made it shine, '-Now read the first letter of every line'.
You say nothing's scarier than demons That come along when it is dark. For when there is so less to see How can one know how bad they are? But isn't that enough solace in itself Also if they're on the hunt. As they'll not be able to spot you Even when you stood in front. Because though this sounds haunting The truth leaves us more stunned. That not all of them wear masks Or are afraid of the sun. You see when it is shining everywhere It is far more difficult to hide. And what are you even supposed to do Of the ones who aren't afraid of light.
Here we are without something Finding ourselves for a cause. And we've switched on every light We've ever come across. Still we've found nothing Except belief that we'll do. And a million more people Who are on the look out too. But maybe our deepest secrets Are the ones we keep within. And they will never be found With the light that falls on our skin. Sometimes the only thing that stays Are those stuck to our feet. So years till we finally notice Our shadows, right beneath.
Buy a book, Smell it once and you'll fall in love with it. Now, borrow a book From someone, or from library Smell it too. Can you feel the difference? Flip its pages. You may find stains of teardrops on some And somewhere few lines would be highlighted because it hit the former reader in a way you will never be able to know. And some are with folded corners, Maybe the reader wanted to go back to the page.
And now that you have completed the book, You know the story. Or stories?
We're not here to live on Continue our journey till the end That the only way ours will matter Is the exact way it's spent. Because I remember growing one plant In the cracks along the ground And I promised to keep track The day I left that town. But the last time I visited I confess I was shocked. How in that very place A dozen more has popped. So I went up to the market spot I'd plant the first one to grow. And my heart sunk a little To realise it wasn't there anymore. Maybe each journey is stretching And two might tie a knot. So a sign we've lived always survives Even when we may not.
Your dampened cheeks seem a blur A tribute to all your dreams. Just enough space between each curve To figure out what it means. And there I see a wrinkled smile Flashing across your face. As if for one special moment Every cut falls into place. I hear your muscles screaming freed Each time they gasp for air. And the way your sentences are strung From the ink stored in your hair. I notice the Earth thrum and dance Each time you blush at the sky. To understand that the pen Isn't the only way we all write.
You can look at any sea Its edges or the very core. But you'll hear no hint That something is sinking to its floor. For drowning is very silent It is hard to spot from the ground. And we can feel everything's fine When they disappear without a sound. As we do not understand this The truth of what is going on. So not until we sense a difference Do we realise that it's gone. It is almost like holding nothing And feeling it has slipped. To find no sign that it had not sunk But neither that it did.
I knew her like the sun With a size so huge and wide She was always glowing With fire raging all inside. But she had heard the tales And believed them to be true So she learned to disappear at times To hide behind the moon. For the people here on earth Had hated how she'd grown They forced her into believing Something so utterly wrong. She never got a chance to think But if she does, she'll understand How she isn't small just because They can hide her with their hands.
