Rage today!

Rage now
for the lives lost,
the heavy cost,
the lines crossed
and carelessly tossed.
Rage at the fear that divides,
that makes us pick sides,
trade lives, breaks ties
and feed us lies.

But rage only against
what has fueled the violence
and these hateful islands.
Rage against this division
and oppression,
the voices that smother
us, telling what is the other
and who isn't our brother.
Rage against the boundaries
that keep us apart
and make isolation an art.

Rage against the cage.

We write what we want
Read what we rant.
What else will you ban?
Break us if you can.
These little cages
won't stop us
from turning the pages
of history and your lies.
Acting like flies
around the corpse of freedom
while we tear down the gates
to the garden of eden.

A stranger to the world
with a hint of danger -
a ranger with a rifle
to the heart of a glacier.
Turning life to death -
a curse to the earth.
A executioner without jury,
a dancer of fury.
You loot and plunder,
these species of wonder.
You insensitive hunter
and your own grave blunder.

Mankind is your name
and suffering is your game.

Write because you have
no other choice.
No second tries and
no other lies.

Words are all you have,
it's your only godddamn vice.

Someone's waiting
beyond that doorway.
Silently, patiently
knowing not
what would come out
knowing not
what they would welcome.
Knowing only that
whatever it maybe
they will be ready for it
and willing to give it a chance.

Beyond that doorway
are your readers.
Someone's waiting.

There is a blizzard
that's coming my way.
They call it life
among its many other names.

I stay put and I stay steady
for my shelter is strong.
Some call it my home
and some call it art.

Show me a reader
and I will show you
someone who is
eternally curious.

Art is a pebble
in the ocean of time -
sending ripples through
eternity and beyond.

To write well
is to suffer
beautifully

Born of the yellowed pages
and living by the rule of ink,
I am
a passing traveler,
a cold dark tale.
