What is honour?

To believe that children are god's gift,
but only if they are obedient...
Is that honour?..No..

To believe that not the law nor the God's words, 
but children should be disciplined by their parent's interpretation of religion... 
Is that honour?..No..


To believe that love does not dishonour, 
but only if it is parents who decide for the children, whom to love...
Is that honour?..No..


To believe that love covers multitude of sins, 
even if the parents hurt others or their own flesh, all in the name of love... 
Is that honour?..No..

Then what is honour?
Where is honour?
Is there any honour in "Honour-killing"?
There is none...
It's just "Killing"...

Every night I stay awake and try to contemplate...

The distance that I have come,

From the person that I am to the person I wish to become...

And every night the odometer shows, how far I have sailed...

But sadly does not tell which direction I have travelled...

If only there was a navigation system built in our heart,

So that we could reroute when we have drifted too far,

And know when to let loose, to just enjoy the scenic route...

It was raining. Perfect excuse to leave the office early. I was on my way home. Thought of texting you. So I started typing on my phone."How are you? I miss being near you.",I erased the whole text and just wrote,"I miss you",under the thousand unanswered messages and hit send.It stopped raining.The traffic was stuck and I was in my car when I saw a puddle. I couldn't resist. I got out of the car and jumped straight into the puddle with a big splash.
"Hey,look what you did,you ruined my favourite shirt."
came the outraged voice from behind, I longed to hear. I turned around with a big goofy smile pasted on my face to see you standing right there with that stupid red shirt that I never liked. I winked and jumped again...
"Don't you dare!"
But I started jumping and laughing like a maniac until you joined me, until we were both totally soaked, until we had to stop to take a breath. We looked at each other. A million emotions crossed your face.I think so did mine.
"Its time to go"
"no"
"Yes.the journey ends here,mam"
"mam?"
Someone shook me awake.
"Mam, you reached your destination"
I looked at my phone to see my unanswered text. Guess our journey has really ended.Time to "move on"..

The society, celebrated a marriage
without dowry...

The parents celebrated a life
without shame...

The attacker celebrated a crime
without consequences...

It was her wedding but she did not celebrate...

Her wedding with her rapist...

Until my throat is parched, hindering me of speech...
