When Will Corona Go?

Never before were we concerned about the health and well-being of our neighbour this seriously

Never before did we imagine that we can get so much work done without stepping out and burning any fossil fuel

Never before did we explore so many beautiful ways of being happy and content without spending thousands on travel tickets

Never before did we realise with this much clarity how home food is not only tasty and delicious but also healthy and a shot in the arm for immunity

Never before did we wake up to the Reality this strongly about how precious every second of good health is and how grateful we should be for this blessing

Never before from scientists and intellectuals to shopkeepers and workers felt this humbled and submitted to a Higher Power with prayer, penitence and sincerity

The sooner we learn these lessons with alacrity
The quicker will Covid go leaving a better world for posterity

Maybe COVID is Nature’s way of telling us to

CO - Cooperate, Collaborate and Care for the other
in our own interest and welfare

V - Value what we have, and not create worries and anxieties by over thinking about what we don’t have

I - as an Individual, be strong mentally and emotionally, and bolster our immunity to deal with any eventuality

D - depend on Divine always, for He is the only resort - the surest and the best, anytime anywhere!


To never forget God, to ever foster selflessness
And always be aware of what is permanent and what is not -

God, through Covid, is re-teaching Bhagavad Gita to humanity! :)

Why the mask, you may ask

So that you don’t speak unless it is necessary
And unintentionally create another adversary

So that you don’t eat outside
And compromise your health

So that you eat and stay at home
And know that health is your greatest wealth

So that you live in the awareness that
You are not alone but part of a community

So that you realise every moment that
You are here to care, share and spread love and amity

Maybe the mask is telling us -

“Feel more, speak less
Think more, say less

“As this is one of the easiest ways
you can save yourself from a lot of mess”

Maybe the mask is also telling us -

“Save energy, stop seeking attention
Cover yourself, enjoy the limitation

“Go within, get in touch with your real nature
This is the only way you can have a better future”


The mask indeed is not just for infections outside
Its true purpose is to protect us from aberrations inside

The nothing in everything
is Buddha

The everything in nothing
is Buddha

The stillness in the wild jungle
is Buddha

The quietude in the multitude
is Buddha

Not becoming,
Being is Buddha

Not loving,
Love is Buddha

As our heart broadens more and more
Our weaknesses contract more and more


As our weaknesses lessen increasingly
Our willpower strengthens progressively


As our willpower becomes greater and greater
There is nothing in this world we cannot conquer

Because now there is no feet I can kiss

Miss you Swami
Because now there is no soft hand to hold
And cry and cry, till the tears go dry

Miss you Swami
Because now That moonlike countenance
Which I could look at and savour for hours together,
Has disappeared forever

Miss you Swami
Because That bewitching smile which was like a shower of roses from heaven
Which could in an instant make my whole being enliven
Is lost to eternity
No matter what I do
I cannot bring back that bower of beauty and sublimity

Yet I know You are there Swami
I know You will do anything for me

The mind understands, analyses and does explain
Still it can never fathom the heart’s pain

The heart realises
Still finds it hard to reconcile

Dearest Swami,
Whether You are there in form or beyond it

This much is true
Without You, this life is futile

This lockdown is not to put us down
Or to just protect us
It is actually to spruce us up

Even as the Earth is repairing
and revving herself up

Soon there will be a new world to behold
In front of us many novel opportunities will unfold

If we have done our homework well in these times of isolation
Without fear we will manoeuvre through the barriers, seize the openings and march on with jubilation

But if we used this quarantine
To only lazy around and become elephantine

We would have lost the opportunity to reflect, correct and refine
We would have missed the chance gifted by the Divine

To isolate and protect the body from infections outside,
we need social distancing

To isolate and protect the mind from contaminations outside,
we need spiritual distancing

Social distancing outside
Spiritual distancing inside

Will lead to

Inner Awakening
Deep inside

-

To meditate,
you need time, place and interest.

Now ‘time’ is plenty
But we have to make our mind empty
And focus on a Form that is most dear
A form that spontaneously erupts all love from our heart and removes all fear

Next is ‘place’
Now we are not travelling
We are at home, relaxing
We can choose a quiet place and fix the spot
A place where the mind can be made still
Like the steady water inside a steady pot

Finally, what matters is ‘interest’
The intensity of our interest
Will decide the quantum of our ecstasy
The more the interest, the more the ecstasy
The more the ecstasy, the more closer we are
To Divinity

And it becomes a beautiful journey to sublimity
