As a kid, on a beach, I once tried to make a sand castle,
far away from the demolishing reach of oceanic waves,
but the dry sand just fell apart every time I tried to mould it.

I realised that the sand closer to the sea stayed moist
and that it was water that held the sand together.

I finally made my sand castle closer to the sea,
only to see it being washed away by the very thing that held it together. Water.

Some relations in life are like that. Too far, and they fall apart.
Too close, and they flow away.
