Alas!
If only I knew,
that Life was but a moment,
lost amidst the battle between hope and despair,

I wouldn't have taken sides.

-

Oh, this ain't another heart breaking story,

nor do I leak of any guilt or pleasures to bury,

for, these are days which yearn not for poetry,

but for peace and love, like a battle lost to history,

as in the defeat of vocabulary, lay the poet's victory.

-

Life is but a mirror.
It'll either fade,
or break.

So,
while it shines,
choose what you reflect.

-

The only thing that could be greater than the Creator,

is your faith in Him.

-

I think I like him.

Yeah,
just him.
No, not his ways.
Especially not the way he creeps me out,
when he takes me into those forbidden alleys of my being;

The ones that are dimly lit,
leaking a fragrance too familiar, yet frosty,
and like the layer of melting ice,
on a lake too stubborn,
he takes my hand,
and we walk the whole night.

If not for him,
I'd never visit these lonely streets.
No, I'm not complaining. Just, saying.
Probably, that's why I don't like his ways.
Or probably,
that's why I like him.

The guy in my head.
The guy who writes.

Alas!
Peace was a luxury,
afforded only by the filthy rich.

So rich,
that they could burn
the currency of filthy memories,
in the unrelenting fire
of incessant forgiveness.

-

Have you seen the beautiful shallow blue beaches,
like the ones near Coral reefs?

People love swimming around the exotic coral life,
as they don't mind being cut every once in a while,
by the sharp edges
of those very corals.

They prefer the safety of its shallowness,
rather than the bruises it brings with it,
bleeding them a little,
every single time.

Irony is,
we apply the same logic
to the people in our Lives as well.

Next time,
choose depth.
Even if you drown,
You'll die just once.

Grateful am I,

to the wrong choices in life.

For,

regrets are a writer's Oasis,

in the desert of thoughtless solitude.

-

Ironically,
the greatest knowledge that could ever be acquired,
would tell us only of its tremendous insignificance.

And in the knowledge of its triviality,
shall lie Humanity's fulfilment.

-

Peace, was Love.
Respect, was Love.
Patience, was Love.
Gratitude, was Love.
Acceptance, was Love.
Compassion, was Love.
Contentment, was Love.
Selflessness, was Love.
Forgiveness, was Love.
Sacrifice, was Love.
Prayer, was Love.
Trust, was Love.
Alas,
Love was reduced to but an emotion,
abused in the name of lust and infatuation;
with Feb the 14th, as the day of filthy initiation,
and ravaged by broken poets, drunk in pseudo elation,
Love lay stripped, drenched in unsung damnation,
as Humanity searched, for mortal salvation.
